tour de fat.
This was my first Tour de Fat. If you’re unfamiliar, Tour de Fat is a huge one-day festivus of bicycles and beer. It commences with a group ride through town with 8,000 of your closest friends in the craziest, most ridiculous costumes you can think of. Double decker custom bike with a dude in tighty-whighties riding 8 feet off the ground, check; dude with a chopper cruiser bike complete with sidecar audio system, check; pirate ship bike, check; spandex pants colored to look like a bare ass, check… anything goes.
[...] With my new and exciting project for New Belgium, I have been left with a lot of tee shirt scraps. And in the spirit of repurposing, I turned millions of scraps into a weird dress to wear for the Tour de Fat event here in Fort Collins, and stayed up until 3:00 am the night before. It was definitely a comfortable outfit. Bonus, considering it was really hot out and we were riding our bikes for a while. I haven’t had that good of a laughing experience in a long time.
