These images, and a bunch more to come, were taken in an abandoned house out near the Pawnee Grasslands. The house is severely deteriorated, having been ravaged by nature for many years it appears. Strangely, the house seems to contain almost all of it’s original belongings. The surrounding area is strewn with debris and carcasses of appliances, tires, and furniture, presumably from people trashing the house and throwing stuff outside. The inside had long been inhabited by a whole colony of black birds, swallows, and pigeons. I only spent about 20 minutes on the property, but I came away with a handful of interesting shots. These first few are all about texture.

Nice series. I love the bright fabric against the wood and the hint of what was at one time.
