photo meetup.

I know that many of you who read this aren’t from Colorado, but I wanted to announce my new Meetup group anyway. I’ve recently started the Northern Colorado Photo Meetup Group. Basically, I’m looking to get pro/serious photographers together in the area to learn from, grow with, and have fun.

Here’s my description:

It seems a shame that there is no group for local photographers from the northern Colorado and Wyoming area. There is the Fort Collins Digital Camera Club, but it is geared towards the basics end of digicams only. I’d love to get more serious shooters together… view cameras, film, lomo, medium format, digital back, working pros, higher-end DSLRs, etc. If you experience lens lust and/or know what Fred Miranda, DP Review, or Luminous Landscape is… you’re in the right place.

I think it would be neat to ditch the forums and get together with real photographers. Shoot the breeze about techniques and gear, chat about experiences, and hopefully get together for random shoots. Doing some more serious photo critiques, gallery visits, informational sessions, etc. are in the works.

We have 19 photographers joined up so far, and a first successful (albeit small) meetup at Wild Boar Coffee last week. I’m trying to reach as many established photographers as possible, if you know someone in the area, pass this along.
