We’ve had a very unusual week of weather. Thursday brought several tornados to the Front Range, including one that rocked a path only a few miles south of our house in Wellington. We definitely had a scare that day; me and the dogs in the basement hunkered down with the weather radio, trying to text message Jess (her phone was dying.. perfect timing) and her mom, who were down in Fort Collins at lunch. Meanwhile, the tornado warnings were out; Windsor (about 15 miles south of Wellington) had just been clobbered by 3″ hail and a 3/4 mile-wide tornado that ended up destroying over 700 homes and businesses. The tornado watches and storm warnings returned the next day too.
This short clip is from a few hours on Friday evening. Nothing terribly picturesque, but the cloud formation is neat to watch.
