git er dun.

Finally! Finally! We are starting our landscaping project. I’ve waited patiently; for the snow to stop, for the money to be there, all the while researching and planning. After our surprise snow/rain business last week, I am officially and totally ready to banish the mud beneath a nicely manicured layer of tall fescue grass and river rock.

Jess and I decided to pull in the big guns and hire a landscaper to do the whole shebang for us. I had wanted to do the work, but it’s a lot to tackle (from sprinkler system and grass, to burying drainage lines and a new patio), especially with Parker here any day. On the upside, we laid out exactly what we want, and it’s going to be amazing! A 10×12 garden with raised beds, a farm-post fenced dog run areas with rock, the all important (and HOA required) sod, an extended stone patio off of the existing concrete one, and a cool natural mound area (see the hose layout in the photo? yep.) in the front with boulders, trees, and grasses. I will post more as we progress.

You’d better! (I’ll be shoveling, wheelbarrowing, and spreading the other 2.5 cubic yards of mulch in our 1200 sq. foot! veggie “patch” later today. Need to get some photos going myself.) Have fun sitting back and drinking a beer while the landscapers break their backs on your behalf!
