ink flow – pt 1.

For years, since the day of my last piece to be precise, I’ve wanted more ink. Not just anything. I pity the fool who walks into a parlor and picks a flash piece off the wall. Some flash is very cool, don’t get me wrong; I just think you should have something more customized to you, about you. My first two pieces – one being designed by me, the other I worked with the artist on – don’t necessarily mean anything to me. They don’t stand for anything in particular. I don’t regret them in the least, the designs themselves are an expression of me, but my next piece will be different.

The new piece will be a departure from most any traditional tattoo style, and certainly from what I have now. The basic premise is that I want to use words and typefaces to create a flowing, solid, and somewhat chaotic creation. I can see bits and pieces of the idea in my mind, but I can’t quite grasp it or get it down on paper; sort of like trying to remember a dream you had the night before. These strings of words will be a representation of me, or have meaning to me. The words will be strung together, piled on top of each, and wound around my back and possibly down my arm(s). The idea is very rough at this point.
